Zippered Convertible

Zippered Convertible, circa 1974-1991, 98, 01-02, 04-06

(later named Zippered Clutch)

This bag was introduced as the Zippered Convertible in 1974, with a swift name change to Zippered Clutch in 1975. The earliest version of this bag lacked an interior pocket as well as the Coach stamp, relying on the hang tag as identification. (It's important to note that vintage Coach-like bags of this style do exist, and the "inspired pieces" will of course also lack a Coach stamp. Very few authentic pocket-less versions like this example seem to be out there.)

The change to Zippered Clutch in 1975 (retaining the same #9455 style number) added an interior hanging pocket. This bag's name changed yet again in 1980 to Basic Bag (keeping the same style number).
